Santorini Wine Industry Gains International Recognition

The volcanic vineyards of Santorini continue to gain global acclaim. Local Assyrtiko wines have recently received high ratings from international wine critics, reinforcing the island’s reputation as one of Greece’s premier wine destinations.

Wineries across the island are expanding wine-tasting experiences, offering sunset tours overlooking the caldera and educational sessions about Santorini’s unique “kouloura” vine-training method.

Wine tourism is expected to play a major role in extending the tourist season into autumn.

Santorini Vinsanto – The island’s most famous dessert wine, made from sun-dried Assyrtiko & Aidani grapes with rich amber tones and complex notes of caramel, nuts, and dried fruit.
